Salt Lake City manages over 1,500 vehicles and machines! These machines help our teams complete important work such as repainting roads, inspecting the airport runways, and trimming trees.

Bucket Truck
⚙️ What it does: Safely reaches high elevations for tasks like cutting trees, maintaining light poles, and removing graffiti.
✨ Fun Fact: Each year, it is used to install and remove the 28 flags at the International Peace Gardens.
📍Where it works: All over the City

Mini Street Sweeper
⚙️ What it does: Keeps compact areas of streets and sidewalks clean and free of debris.
✨ Fun Fact: The mini street sweeper can fit in tight spaces like bike paths, alleyways, and pedestrian zones where full-sized sweepers can’t reach.
📍Where it works: Mostly downtown

Electric Lawn Mower
⚙️ What it does: Maintains healthy landscapes while reducing the city’s carbon footprint.
✨ Fun Fact: The electric mower can run for 8 hours before needing a charge and gains an extra hour of runtime with its built-in solar panel.
📍Where it works: All City parks

Pavement Marker
⚙️ What it does: Applies paint and other markings on roads, bike lanes, and parking lots.
✨ Fun Fact: In 2025, the pavement marker helped complete 94% of the annual striping goal by September.
📍Where it works: All over the City

Airfield Operations Truck
⚙️ What it does: Conducts daily inspections of airport runways, taxiways, and ramps.
✨ Fun Fact: Airfield safety at SLC is a 24-hour operation, with fully electric trucks that log up to 30,000 miles annually per vehicle.
📍Where it works: Salt Lake City Airport

Asphalt Roller
⚙️ What it does: Compacts layers of newly laid asphalt to create a smooth, durable surface for driving.
✨ Fun Fact: To smooth asphalt effectively, rollers weigh up to 20 tons, about the weight of 2.5 elephants.
📍Where it works: Any street resurfacing site in the City
