Green Loop | Full Project Timeline

The Green Loop is advancing in phases, with each corridor moving at its own pace through engagement, design, and construction. While initial segments like 900 South and the flagship block connecting Library Square and Washington Square are already in motion, completing more than five miles of greenway will take time—potentially a decade or more.

  1. Salt Lake City is in the process of selecting a consultant to lead public engagement and create preliminary designs for the 500 West section of the Green Loop.
  2. The City Council is considering $3.1 million FY24/25 Capital Improvement Project (CIP) funds to advance the Green Loop vision. Once it has been added to City Council's agenda, an updated will be posted here.
