The Green Loop is advancing in phases, with each corridor moving at its own pace through engagement, design, and construction. While initial segments like 900 South and the flagship block connecting Library Square and Washington Square are already in motion, completing more than five miles of greenway will take time—potentially a decade or more.

City Council Approved $3.1 Million in Funding (2025)

January 21, 2025

The City Council unanimously approved $3.1 million FY24/25 Capital Improvement Project (CIP) funds to advance the Green Loop vision.

These funds would be used to:

  1. Prepare project development and public space management guidelines
  2. Public engagement and final design documents for the section of the Green Loop on 200 East from 350 South to 450 South
  3. Public engagement and preliminary design documents for 500 West
